grinding going into third?

grinding going into third? Tonight was the first time I drove my car in a pretty good amount of rain, it would grind a little when I transfered to 3rd each time unless I let the tach/RPMs level back out before I did it. Any Ideas on why this could be happening, its fine when its dry outside. TIA
