Clutch or syncro problem?

Every once in a while, when I try to shift into my 3rd, 4th or 5th gear, it will grind loudly and sometimes kick out of gear. If I try the same gear again it shifts just fine. (And yes, my foot DOES push the clutch in all the way) Is this a clutch issue?

if your gettin kinda a grinding "virrrrp" noise going into 3rd and 4th, thats the syncro. Im not sure about the kicking out of gear thing,, fork maybe?

Well, I've been condisering doing a Tick rebuild, would that be resolved after I make the switch?

Well, best thing I can tell you is, when it is just 1 or 2 gears, it is NORMALLY a transmission issue. Just remember, your clutch controls the shifting for ALL your gears, and if clutch is bad, then you should experience bad shifting in ALL gears, not jsut 1 or 2.

it should as the 3/4 syncro is a part of the rebuild (the 629.00 one) there are alot of other goodies in that kit as well, all those parts are needed in my op,,, its all the weak crap in our trannies.
