How do you know for a fact that the Royal Purple fluid is "thicker"?? I'm assuming you mean its a higher viscocity, but I can't see how that works being that it needs to meet Dexron III/Mercon specs.

Look at your shifter where it mounts to tranz. My car did the same thing when I got it. I pulled the console and the bolts were loose.
