3rd gear vibration

i have a bad vibration throughout my 3rd gear powerband and only in third, just bought the car it has 50000 miles on it. does anyone else experience this or is a gear or synchro in my trans fubared?

Well if you were in Austin Texas I would tell ya to Bring me the tranny and I would look at it.
I dont' really know why it would Vibrate in third only .
Does it make any strange sounds?
The Synchro Keepers Like to Break off in the 3-4 synchro assembly.
Those floatin around can reak Havak in the tranny.

3rd gear vibration

Hey, did you ever figure out what was causing your 3rd gear vibration? i am having the same problem. '99 formula 5.7 AT

If it has not been rebuilt with a iron shift fork , it prolly needs one.

Have you tried running through the same MPH range in 2nd or 4th, that you're feeling the vibe in 3rd? Unless your third gear bearing is shot, it's hard to isolate any mechanical part inside the trans to only third.
