With broken pieces it's not going to be repairing but replacing. Good luck bud.

Be sure to check the bellhousing. I have seen two different cars where things have broken and were thrown around by the flexplate/coverter and the bellhousing was broken 80% of the way across.

One was my buddies 96 Z, which had a starter break just like yours and the pieces were thrown around, breaking the bellhousing. The other was my 97 WS6. About a month after I first bought it in 2005, a rear seal housing bolt had backed out and got thrown around and it broke my bellhousing. I was able to get mine welded up.

For all you who said the pieces came from my starter....DING DING DING!!! A piece of my bell housing had chipped off, as well, and had been bouncing around in there.
HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GET TO THE TOP LEFT(if your looking down the throw out bearing) BOLT ON THE BELL HOUSING!! Engine hoist? Then where do i secure the hoist?

You'll be able to reach the top two bolts from the shifter opening in the floor.
Use extensions and operate your ratchet from inside the car.

Not this one man...I can't even get a socket on it...I think I'm going to remove the motor mounts and lean it back, I'm gonna change the oil pan out anyway.

Where should I secure an engine hoiston an LT1?

that bolt is a bitch. I ended up letting the engine hang in there, and used a prybar to bend the metal up on the car. A short socket and a swivel ended up finally fitting, but only to crack the bolt loose. I have to unscrew mine out with my fingers because the socket wont fit anymore as the bolt comes out. HUGE PITA, but it is doable.

LOL! I can't believe you let it go this long without doing something about it!

Some of us dont have the luxury of being able to drop a transmission for any little problem that may arise. And a slight rattle is not enough for me to do so.
