One has the upgraded aluminum flywheel and ARP bolts. The other does not. I believe that extra 100 bucks is better spent elsewhere. My personal experience with aluminum is that it's overrated and steel holds up to wear and tear better.

+1. i just got the steel kit from sdpc. i am very happy with the ls7 so far. good street clutch for cars with down to earth power numbers. if you have 500+hp you may want to look at something else.

This might be a stupid question....But that flywheel will work on a LS1 correct?

I kept reading somewhere that it is a different flywheel or something rather?

you need to use the ls2 flywheel with the ls7 disc and PP, which is how sdpc packages them. not the ls7 flywheel.

You can't use an LS7 clutch on a stock LS1 flywheel. You need the entire LS7 clutch package that includes clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.

i just installed that same package, you need the LS2 flywheel and the ls7 clutch disc and pressure plate. some other things to consider would be a new pilot bushing or bearing. i went with a bushing just because i dont like the idea of running bearings with out a way to lube them. also you may want to look at a new slave and master. i would go with a steel flywheel, the aluminum flywheel will not hold up like a steel flywheel.

Have the LS7 clutch with the steel flywheel. Had Speed Inc install a tick m/c at the same time. Seems to be a nice unit, had it for 2500 miles so far.

Another LS7 here. I've been running it for almost two years, no problems.
