bent shift fork?

bent shift fork? I have a 2000 SS that dyno'd 397 rwhp. Recently my car pops out of 3rd and 4th gear. I have spoken with a few people and everyone seems to think that my 3/4 shift fork is bent. What is usually the best repair for this problem? Should I rebuild the tranny by getting new synchros and bearings, DD performance sells a rebuild kits with the upgraded steel shift fork. My plan was to order the parts from them and then have a local place do the intall. D and D will do the work but then i would have to ship my tranny halfway across the country and back, and that would cost about 360 bucks just for shipping. Has anyone dealt with this problem before, if so, what worked or didnt work for you.

i had the same problem,and it was a bent fork. i bought a rebuild kit and steel fork from d&d(i live 40mi from their shop)and the problem has been solved.i would search out a good local place for the re-build,thats what i did. goodluck to ya.

Its not hard to rebuild them if you have access to a press.
I have done about 8 so far . I got it down under three hours to do one once the tranny is on the bench.
