Hey guys I just recently changed the oil in my T56 and I know it called for DexIII which I put 3 quarts of it. However the guy at the parts store talked me into running some Lucas Tranny stuff in it as well and I think Im regretting it. Ever since I did that it seems shifting into 4 gear especially HARD and FAST I will get a bit of a grind. Is this something that happens when you change the viscosity of oil? Im going to get the oil warm tomorrow and dump it back out and get just the DexIII back in it. I just thought Id ask. It didnt do that before I messed with that Lucas. I dont think its a syncroniser at least I sure hope its not.
Any thoughts?

Friction modifiers are not a good idea with the std. paper-lined friction cones in a T56. If you had already upgraded to the carbon, its not as bad. Did that auto parts schlub give you a warranty?

Hey just an update, I drained the PUCUS oil that I made the mistake of putting in with my DexIII and replaced it with just the DexIII like I should have done to begin with but stupid me thinking OH I will put that Lucas in for extra longevity. Well INSTANT difference! Shifts smooth now, under hard load acceleration and fast shifts. Anyway thanks for the heads up guys. Im glad I only drove the car about 10 miles with the lucas in there.

you dont need to put any " additives "in your trans fluid. if it needed extra additives, the manufacturer would have put them in there before they bottled them
