Default T-56 strength.

Hi, i was planning on building me an engine with a built T-56 behind it, but I just wanted to make sure it would hold up. I plan on making about 1200+ HP, so can it be built to hold up?

It will hold that power as long as the gearing is high and the car is LIGHT.

Well, it will be a drag/street car, so will it hold or will I need an auto?

At that power level, I would not rely on the unit staying together for very long. Unless you really need a manual transmission with a double over drive, there are better choices. Personally I would go with a fully built up Powerglide. If you need an overdrive, a built 4L80E would be a better choice.
