The ram clutch from TSP any good? the one rated up to 600 hp? i want a clutch that will last thru a good beating! I drive normal weekly, but every now and then i have a score to settle, or another ricer to shut up

I would stay away from RAM clutches. Monster, SPEC, and Textralia put out some good stuff, depending on how much you want to spend.

You are going to get a lot of mixed opinions on this because of the nature of what a clutch is. From basically any company you will pretty much always going to find premature failures and other issues. Probably the majority are from installation problems, the rest being either a manufacturing defect or one of the other millions of ways mechanical parts can fail. I use RAM clutches and know others that have. I find them to generally be good clutches and like that they don't need a break in (or at least most don't). Granted my car is an LT1, but for what its worth mine has taken about 20,000 not so easy miles still grabbing like a clamp. The first clutch dump was at about 80 miles. YMMV

I had a ram in my old LT1 and loved it.... The one for the LS1 you are talking about is garbage though! I went through 2 within 6 months through the warranty and they wouldn’t replace it again after that. I only ended up getting 1/2 my money back for it and bought a centerforce dual friction after that. It has been in there for about 4 years now and still works great. I will never buy Ram again...

Wow that's pretty terrible. I know of a couple LS guys that have had good luck with the Powergrip HD but man that's pretty bad!

Yeah it was a freakin nightmare and a half! They tried to come up with every reason they could think of for why it kept failing but when they tried to blame me for installing a shim that came with the damn thing I had enough and asked to just get my money back. The only reason I settled for 1/2 my money was to just get it done with cuz I was literally drained from the whole thing.

Depending on how much power you are putting down I would recommend a Monster Level 2 or a Level 3.

Give me a call at the shop and we can go over your options on the phone.

Monster by far!

Call TSP back and tell them to sell you a Monster, they are a distributor for us.

Mine ramHD is fine, I'm really happy with it. Just a single disk that dosn't cost that much I can daily drive and race on.

If you are going to severily abuse the clutch, Level 3 by far.
