Problem with Reverse Lockout
I just had my transmission faceplated by Liberty gears. Don't even have 100 miles on it. Before I took the transmission out before, I had a problem getting it into reverse. It was a bear and sometimes it would not go in at all. I didn't realize there was even a reverse lockout solenoid. Tonight, I was down on Woodward Ave. and tried to park and again, it wouldn't go into reverse. Transmission was pretty hot also. As I'm driving home the weather is getting cooler here right now. Got home and decided to back into the garage and it went into reverse. Just went out into the garage, started the car and it again went into reverse. It appears there is something to do with the heat and the reverse lockout solenoid. Is that possible or is something else wrong?

If it will go into the gate and go up but just not go into reverse, that's a trans/clutch issue. If it's hard or won't let you go into the reverse gate, that's a solenoid issue. The solenoid blocks the gate and is supposed to keep your shifter from even sliding into it.
