Talking Spec Stage 3 Installed!!

Hey guys just wanted to share that i got my Spec installed today. Me and a buddy did it and it took us about 5hrs to fully complete. It wasn't really that bad other than trying to wiggle the tranny out and get the input shaft aligned back up when it was going in. So far in just the few miles that i have driven there is not too much chatter, just a little bit when i am trying to slip the clutch some. The pedal also feels just about the way it did with the stock setup in there. I put the Stage 3 kit in with there flywheel as well as an 02 slave, new throwout and pilot bearings. So far i am pleased with this setup, hopefully it will be able to hold the power i am going to throw at it with my H/C package within a month or so.

Out of curiosity what kind of shape was the bearing in, and did you do the drill mod on the master

Both bearings were still in good shape but while your in there you might as well change them out and my slave came with the throwout and my clutch kit came with a new pilot as well. I did not do the drill mod and so far it is engaging just fine.

had you ever installed one before? im just curious cause i need to get mine put in and was wondering if its easy enuf for a first timer.

No this was my first time tackling an install like this. Like i said i did have a buddy help me, and he has done several clutch installs. If it is going to be your first time i don't see anything that could give you too much trouble. Just make sure you get the alignment tool in correct and get the flywheel and pressure plate torqued down right and you shouldn't have to much to worry about. You are going to need another person helping you as i don't see how one person could muscle the tranny in and out by themselves. Good luck.

The master cylinder is drilled out to let more fluid pass through the line to help with engagement/disengagement of the clutch.
