Default transmission line up hints

Im finishing up my clutch install and Im having a hell of a time getting this shaft to go into the pilot bushing. It passes the splines fine but its just being difficult when it passes them. Any hints or tips on this, everything is lined up perfectly and there are no obstructions, Its just difficult without any help im doing this by myself. I have a lift and trans jack. I mean i figure if i sit there for a few hours of countless adjusting and sore arms I can eventually get it in, I was just extremely tired this afternoon when I was attepting this. Any tricks to share?

You sure everything is lined up correctly. Use an alignment tool? Mines was also a pain in the *** and I was by myself as well. Youll get it in, some just take some effort.

If you used a clutch alignment tool, it should slide right in. If you eyeballed the clutch while bolting on the pressure plate and its off just a tad, it will make lining up the trans a struggle.

Yeah, if the tool doesnt slide in and out without any effort it will be a bitch.

I thought I had it good but tried aligning again and it was fine.

Unless u have issues with the spigot. Did u replace it?

Twin plates need to be perfectly aligned. is it a twin?

The PP needs loosely held in place with it's bolts so the disc can move still.
Set the alignment tool in place (in the disc, inserted to the pilot too)
Rock the tool up and down.
Stop about in the middle of the range of motion (may not be perpendicular to the flywheel)
Tighten a PP bolt enough to secure the disc.
Tighten the bolt on the opposite side and tighten all in a proper star pattern.
Verify the tool slides in and out with ease.
If it doesn't, start over.

If you have an old input, those work better than the plastic tools.
