Yoke's are typically measured from the U-joint centerline, to the end of the splined shaft.

A stock yoke will be 5.5" from C to end, which gives about 3.75" of "slip" tube.

Has various lengths, U-joint versions, steel versions, etc..

Most custom Driveshaft vendors have instructions on measuring length and speak to the amount of slip tube typically needed. Most of the time unless you have alot of suspension travel, a stock length yoke will suffice.
