should I replace pressure plate?
should I replace pressure plate? I am dropping my motor out and replacing it with a used 383 I bought. I recently did a t56 conversion in my car and put in a stock Valeo clutch setup. I have probably less than 20k on the swap & am picking up a McLleod clutch disc to put in during the swap. I'm likely going to resurface the flywheel while I got it all out and apart (and ensure that it is balanced the same way as the flexplate that came with the motor I bought) but am torn on what to do with the pressure plate.
I'm considering just reusing the things since it has very low miles on it. Anyone else car to chime in?
If I replace it I'm just going to go to a local autoparts store and rob a pressure plate out of a stock clutch kit since that is cheaper than buying them separate. From my research it seems that the majority of pressure plates for LT1's are the same.
