replacing a clutch

Question replacing a clutch

I'm new to the LS1 Tech website. I'm changing out the rear main seal on my 2002 z28 with the T56. Between 1-10 how hard is it to remove the clutch will i have to bleed the system. Between 1-10 my mechanical skills are about a 7-8, i'm just a like scared because i have never dealt with a manual. If you could provide some info i would really be grateful .

If you've swapped a gearbox before you will be fine. It's basic but heavy work. You might want a pilot tool [plastic freebie item] for disc alignment. No reason to disconnect or need to bleed the clutch line.

take your time and no short cuts. you era replacing the clutch n flywheel right? you got an oil seal leaking you might have oil on the clutch pads..... and since you have it all torn apart why not replace clutch n fly wheel. GL.

The seal is protected by and in front of the flywheel, although it looks messy, the fluid may have been kept away from the clutch.
If on an extremely tight budget just replace the seal. Or do as cowboysfan suggests; while you are there replace the clutch with an LS7, replace the throwout bearing/slave cylinder [now you DO get to bleed it], and maybe the oil soaked and ruined the rear trans mount.
