3rd synchro bad ?

3rd synchro bad ? How do i kno when my 3rd synchro is bad ? At highrpms in 2nd ill shift into third and it will grind.... likewise at low rpms in 4th and i downshift to 3rd it grinds.... im pretty sure the synchro is gone, and else think so? and the dealer shoudl cover this right ? i have an '02 SS and my only mod is a cutout and lowered.

The service rep said they may not cover it due to "hotrodding" i was like what the hell is that lol, he said it was revving it throwin it in 3rd and launching...i couldnt stop laughing..... how do they determine that it is abuse ? anyhow they will cover it or they will see my *** in court, its an 02 ss so they better cover it.
The reason they know its from hot rodding is, Thats the only way you can wear them out that fast.
It one of these cars was drivin like a dailey driver, no Hot rodding.
That tranny would go well over 100000 miles with out a problem
