Default transmission help??? skip shift

1998 Camaro with T56. I am rebuilding/ upgrading my T56 6 speed. The diagram shows a Skip Shift lever part on the main shifting rod for 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th. I do not remember taking this part off during disassembly. Also, the drawing shows a hole in the shaft for a pin and the shaft does not have a hole at this location. With the drawing I have, one picture shows the skip shift lever between the shifting forks and another picture with the lever behind the shift forks.
I need some help. Could I have lost this part or is there a chance that this current year did not have Skip Shift Lever?

Thank you for your help.

Extremely unlikely unless someone merged a 1993 case, shift rail and divorced guide lever (used w/ skip-shift lever in 94 to early 95) with LS front plate, input and parts.

Post pics of what you have.
