Default Slave is blown...now what?

Hey guys, my car has been sidelined due to a bad slave cylinder, first let me describe the symtoms: The drivetrain is all stock 98 parts BTW.

1. no clutch pedal pressure
2. damp area on bottom of bellhousing
3. fluid in reseviour seems at ok level?? (i dont get this part)

I'm logically assuming that my problem is the slave and not the master, but oh well. Im planning to replace everything with LS6 components when replacing the slave since its such a PITA to get my trans down due to the awkward placement of the drivetrain in my car ('67 camaros werent designed to have LS1s apparently).

Questions:
1. Do I need to purchase an LS6 slave, or just the updated fbod version, or is it the same one?

2. Can I use the LS6 clutch disk with my stock pressure plate and flywheel?

3. Should I replace the master cyl. as well?

get the 01-02 slave
just buy the Z06 clutch package
you may not need the 01-02 master with the ZO6 clutch, only if you got have hydraulic problems after everything has been properly bled,

My 2nd new GM slave has about 1,000 miles on it and my clutch gets very mushy a few miles after bleeding it. I know it's not leaking from the master, the bottom of the bell housing is covered in brake fluid, and the fluid in the reservoir is black. I have no clue what's wrong w/ it, but the pressure is always enough to shift. Any ideas????

The Z06 (Y-Body) and F-Body slaves are slightly different but you can use the LS6 flywheel, pressure plate and disk on it with no problem. I'd wait on purchasing the master until after replacing all that ***** and see if the problem is solved.

Beauty job putting an LS1 in a 1st gen Camaro BTW.
