fluid can definitely play a role....... depends on it's viscosity.... usually a thicker fluid will be better in the cold

Royal Purple Synchromesh, Penzoil Synchromesh either will work great.

Does it REALLY work or are you just saying based on reading people opinions? I don't mean to be harsh or a pessimist, but I mean, many people just follow the masses and then swear by something because THEY use it when there's no hard evidence to it working or not. It's like exhausts. Everyone swears their's is the best

In short, any hard proof that it works?

When its really cold down here, as it has been lately my car is hard to get into reverse and first but once it warms up it shifts real nice and smooth. Either way i'm going to order a Tick MC as I think my clutch doesn't disengage properly.

I went from the original 60k Dex III to GM Syncromesh and then went back to Dex III when I had to drop the trans. The only difference I felt with the GM syncromesh was less notchyness at cold starts. Other then cold starts the tranny felt exactly the same as running the Dex III.

When I turn my car off it goes into gear with no problem. When I take off the brake it starts moving. Guess it's time to bleed the lines again? Ive had to a couple summers ago.. Where does all this damn air in the lines keep coming from!

Of course it will go into gear with no problem with the car not running...they all do.
If you're on a hill and you're in gear and it rolls by itself...that's an internal trans problem.
And I use Dexron III in the trans, OEM recommended.

^yeah well I didn't realize that.. Interestingly enough, no ones mentioned that in this thread yet and I would have just turned my car off put it in reverse and turned it on again instead of pumping the clutch 100x and nearly breaking the stereo with my fist. And some problems like that aren't only when it car is running so it may not be as obvious as you think. However, I still have the problem and this is something to get me by I'm still gunna have to bleed the lines and see if that helps things again
