Confusion on bleeding clutch.
I bled new brake fluid through my clutch this past weekend but accidentally let the clutch pedal back up when the bleeder valve was open. After reading many of the threads on bleeding the clutch I'm wondering if a step was left out or maybe that I'm wrong. What I'm wondering is that don't you need to crack the bleeder valve open with the clutch pedal up, then push the clutch in (keeping it there), then close the bleeder valve to get air out of the slave? Seems to me that this would be the best way to bleed air out of the slave.

Well I tried what I was talking about and the clutch seems better but I'm still not sure if I got all the air out. I'm borrowing a mighty vac today. Anyone know how to bleed air out of the system with the slave and master in the car? Thanks.

Thanks, I did it that way and also tried the "leave the clutch up, open the valve. Depress the clutch leaving it to the floor, closing the valve." and the pedal didn't seem much different. Worked basically the same but it seemd to force more fluid out.
