Default LT1 T56, Clutch fork hits pressure plate

I put in a spec stage 2 clutch in my IROC in december(to replace the oil soaked centerforce clutch), and right after i pushed the clutch in and the fork would rub on the pressure plate.
So i shimmed the slave a little bit and it stopped over extending into the pressure plate and it seemed ok, no more rubbing. I drove the car to get some gas today(across the street) and when i was pulling out and the pedal seemed to drop, and then i heard the same noise when it was rubbing on the pressure plate. Its deff rubbing on the pressure plate now, i put some paint on the fork, reinstalled the slave, pushed the pedal a few times and theres missing paint.
My question is why does it keep doing this? Anyone run into this problem? Any help would be GREATLY appriciated.
Springs commin and i wanna drive this bad larry!

I just had the same problem. Did you find out what caused it? and what did you do to fix it?

Joe,
The Valeo pull clutch 93-97 T56 setups are sensitive to fork pivot distance from the flywheel. The fork-pressure plate grind shows up in the 89-96 Vettes sometimes too.

Ways to work with it in order of amt. of work:
OP shimmed his slave which works if the clutch still releases.
Milling the base of the fork pivot tee.
Machining some of the crank side of the flywheel center.
Machining the face of the flywheel.
Blockplate to shim the trans away (have to double check pilot & clutch engagement.)

Good luck w/ your setup.

One issue can be the pressure plate (in my case).
A throwout bearing that’s too short or the need for an adjustable pivot ball
