Default Loose Shifter

I have a 06 Corvette Z51 m6 speed. When my car is in gear, the shifter is not tight and wiggles a pretty good bit side to side. I'm wanting to get a MGW short throw shifter but I dunno if that will fix it. Does anybody know if it is bad that it is loose while it is in gear?
Thanks, Brett

Are you sure it isn't just the handle where it bolts to the shifter? When I put my Billet Plus on I didn't get it tight enough and it did that over time. I tightened the hell out of it and it hasn't budged since.

not sure what the vette setup looks like but I've had the stick bolts come loose also. I tightened them as tight as I could and then put nuts on the other side after they threaded through the stick after they came loose the 2nd time. those things are not going to budge.

I have no clue what it is. My friend noticed it a couple weeks ago when I let him drive it. He isn't sure what it is either.

I'm not sure about the interior of the vette, but you should be able to feel where the stick bolts to the shifter without removing the boot. If the little stub sticking out of the shifter is moving you have a bigger problem, but if it's just the stick moving, tightening the bolts should fix it.

Since the MGW is a complete replacement it will solve your issues even if the above is the case.
