Bleeding the clutch

Bleeding the clutch
This may be a dumb question but... I have a T56 Magnum with a Camaro LS1 slave cylinder installed in the car. The engine is not in yet. Can the slave cylinder and master cylinder be bleed or will the slave cylinder blow apart if the clutch isn't against it?

I'd guess no. I was able to get the throwout bearing off of my slave with what I thought was not much force. However, the system isn't under any pressure when the pedal isn't depressed. Your problem will come with trying to install the motor. The clutch fingers will stop at the throwout bearing, and you'll have to pull the motor and trans together by tightening bell housing bolts... which is a big no. So I'm no clutch expert, but I'd say you should wait til the bell housing is bolted to the back of that motor.
