Default LQ4/T56 Question

I have seen tons of info on later lq4/t56 swaps but nothing on the 99-00 lq4. From what ive found a ls1 t56 will not work because of the longer crank. What i want to know is will a lt1 t56 work and with what flywheel? What all is needed to put a lt1 t56 behind a early lq4? Thanks for any input.

i beleive its more work than its worth...

the input shaft is different, so you would have to run an LT1 clutch that wouldnt bolt up to an LS1 flywheel. and an LT1 flywheel wont bolt up to an LS based crank.

I think in that sitiuation, you need to find a late 00+ LQ4 with the short crank and the spacer, and just remove the spacer.

The crank is the same depth from the block face as a BBC or Gen I / II SBC. This worked for the 4L80-E at the time.

Re: an LS1 T56, you could space the trans. out as needed, make sure the splines are properly in the disc and the pilot of the input is in the bushing properly, and do a final shim of the slave.

With regard to the LT1 T56, as long as it's not a '93 box, it's way too easy to put the 98-up front adapter plate and 98-02 input in it the trans., making it a 98-02 box.

Ill just stick with the monster 700r4. Seems to be a lot less headache. Thanks for the input.
