Default Damaged T56?

Buddy of mine got rearended by a semi on the freeway while doing 50ish. He said he had it in 4th, and when the truck hit him it knocked it out of gear. Totaled the car, as it bent the rear pretty good.

I sat in the car and the shifter was lazy to return to center and felt really notchy... but its been a while since ive felt a stock shifer too. Seems to drive fine.

What are the chances of it being damaged? Any signs I should look for?

Thanks for the help!

I would expect there could be mount, torque arm , bell and mainshaft issues.

I'd tear it down and upgrade it while you are there.

Price these parts plus rebuild parts and you'll have a better idea of it's value.
