shifter stuck BETWEEN 3rd and 5th???

shifter stuck BETWEEN 3rd and 5th??? hi,
last night i was driving my car, and was shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd, when shifted to third it didn't go there, but it went to somewhere between 3rd and 5th gear, it got stuck there, it was hard, it didn't want to get out, but i pulled on it hard and got it,
so do you guys think there's someting wrong with the trans, synchros, or what else?
btw i have a SPEC stg3 w/ steel flywheel, MeCleod adj master, and new GM slave, B&M ripper,

probiably nothing with the syncros at all. It probiably has something to do with the ball and detent assembly inside the tranny. It could possibly be worn or the guide tooth bent or chipped or maybe the guide plate chipped or broken. It was probiably more of a fluke than anything but just to give you an idea.

what I think has happened( cause I have seen it)
there are these roll pins on the shift rod. One of them has probably snapped, The One that hold the shift selector assembly to the rod.
Now you are stuck there. either that or the 3-4 shift fork went.
Hard to really say till you get it open.

Hey, I had the same problem in my '02 WS6. I also had it serviced twice because of it. Here is what they replaced,
3-4 fork
synchros
3 gear
4 gear
Now, I did it while at the track shifting from 2-3 and it landed somewhere between 3-5, just like you did. Nobody at GM believed me when I told them it landed between 3-5. They drove the car all day, (put 30 miles on the car, 3 guys) and couldn't duplicate it. They then wanted me to take the car home because they couldn't duplicate the problem. I took them down the street, (maybe 1/2 mile) and duplicated the problem.
Best of luck with fixing it. While I was at the service department, another T/A pulled in with the same problem. Hope that helps,
