LT1 PP resurface?
I did this. I had a SPEC disc ruined in my oold 97 LT1 TA, and resurfaced the SPEC pressure plate and stock flywheel again. Came out perfect. Had no issues at all. If I recall correctly, they only removed .007" off the pressure plate.

the machine shop I use is closed on friday-sunday so can't ask them until monday
typically I would replace the PP as a kit with clutch but in this case it is very low milage and I want to go with a more aggressive disc than the organic one I have now.
have not pulled the clutch yet to inspect but assume it will have minimal wear on disc/FW & PP.
Thought was to get the flywheel & PP resurfaced
I assume the machine shop needs to depress the diaphram to allow the engagement part of the PP to raise so the resurface machine and work??
doubt they need to take off more than .005" on either part to clean it up

Typically we recommend replacing the diaphragm pressure plate, because when you take material from the casting of the pressure plate you change the finger height and then you can get into the fork hitting the cover issues.
