Default spec 3+ vs spec 4

Whats the differences in the spec 3+ and the spec 4 clutches.
specifically what to expect in a street driven car?
clatter? ease into gear?
why not get the cheaper spec 4 over the spec 3+?

The spec 3+ has a sprung hub, the spec 4 dosent. I imagine this makes for harsher engagement on the 4.

I have a spec 4 and love it. Cant tell that it engages harshly at all.

Go with the Spec 3+. Like mention it has a sprung hub and holds a good amount of power.

Yeah Im running a Spec 4+ (think thats it). Its on a solid hub and it drives around fine I think. Its holding 750+rwhp good on and off of the track.

I had a 4F in an LTx setup which drove amazingly smooth. A buddy had a 3 which chattered and eventually blew the springs, he then switched to a normal 4 which drove better than the standard 3 (likely due to the lack of springs) but not quite as nice as my 4F disk. I'm not sure if the 4F is different than the 4+ but it was a 4 with a full face disk, not a puck design.

With all of that being said, I do think that I prefer my McLeod RST over the spec 3, 4, and 4F cars that I've driven. Once you get into the 4F you are approaching (if not surpassing) the RST price range. The RST has a smoother engagement over a longer clutch pedal travel distance. Obviously they have different applications as I wouldn't recommend heavy drag use of the RST but if you are spending the majority of your time logging street miles I feel the RST is a better all around option.
