t56 noise (help)

Question t56 noise (help)

I am having a growl noise coming from inside my t56, from a dead stop no noise as soon as i start off the howl starts.push clutch in and noise goes away.as soon as clutch is released and driving in firts or second gear the noise is back,only when i am moving slow, noise only lasts for a second or two.during all other gears their is no noise.I put dexron III in, clutch seams to be working great. any help or sugestions would be great!!!

Possibly a throwout bearing going bad?

Is this a LT1 or LS1 car? If it is a LT1 car they are notorious for TO bearing chatter which is what you might be hearing. If it is a LS1 car I would suspect what the above guy said also consider it could maybe be a pilot bearing also.
