Default Firewall repair????

I know this might not be the correct forum to put this in, but it's the best I got.

I did a 6speed conversion a while back and put in a McLeod adjustable master cylinder.

Well over the course of a few months, the firewall where i had put in the new master cylinder decided it wanted to crack and create some rather nice holes in it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this little problem?

Thanks!

ugh. i don't want to have to take everything apart...although i guess it would be a good time to flush that clutch fluid out...it is pretty black...lol

i'll just have to find someone who can weld...:p

Just for reference, do you remember how big the hole that you drilled in the firewall was?

I drilled a 2" on mine and have heard numerous stories about that particular size cracking the firewall.

i think about a 20 gauge would be fine. you could cut your patch to fit under your pedals from the inside. i bought some non-porous cement at lowes in the chauk section and bond the patch then use pop rivets to further secure it . inside is best because as you push the pedal down with shifts the patch also acts as an oversized washer to spread the load out to a larger area. take your time form a patch, and use some self tapping screws to suck down your patch while your glue is still wet, then replace the screws with pop rivets after the glue drys. good idea would be to pull your steering column for more room. easy to do just take your time
