Default clutch fitment problem

hey guys, i recently started assembling my clutch setup onto my ls1. i had purchased a used spec 3+ (clutch disk, flywheel, pp) awhile back and noticed the clutch disk itself was messed up. so i ordered just a clutch disk from spec (yet again spec 3+ scd093f). upon assembly, the clutch disk itself is too big for the pressure plate. am i missing something here? is the 3+ a bigger overall clutch setup than the 3? are there differences in the ls1/2/3/6/7 clutch/flywheel sizes? this has got me stumped.

I ran into the same problem when I bought a new clutch from Spec. Turns out that if you have a rebuildable PP or one of the older PP it uses a smaller clutch disc. I think it's 11" versus 12". I just gave them a call back, sent them the old clutch disc and they sent me the proper one. Great guys.

The LS1 kits were initially available in 11" diameter and then we moved to 12" units in late 08. That being said, if you need a different size just give me a call. I am not sure who you spoke with initially but I will be happy to help you. Thanks!!
