Default Transmission swap

Stock automatic, what all is needed to swap an automatic to a 6 speed manual possibly? 4 speed if not possible.

Its completely possible. I did it last year about this time.

There is a sticky in the manual transmission FAQ page that has a bill of materials and walkthrough of exactly how to do it. A lot of input from us vets as well.

as for cost, look around $2k for used parts, of course more for new. I had used built trans, new clutch, new master, new slave and used everything else and came out to $3k

Just did this swap a few days ago .. I have roughly 2,700 into it stage 3 t56 chromoly nitrous driveshave adjustable master spec 3+ clutch and pressure plate ,RAM flywheel and earls 1 man bleeder
The deals are out there just have to be patient

I would recommend putting a nice stall and shift kit instead. Heck with that money you can even cam it. I did an a4 to m6 swap earlier this year and I regret getting rid of my yank 3600. I could of done heads and cam instead and been a lot happier. Theres nothing like the pull of a stalled auto.

I picked up a t56 for no kidding a 100 buck needed new shift fork and i put new synchros in , parts from members here did all the work myself i dont think i have 600 in the entire swap . and i love it over the auto ! here is a link that can help with the converstion

How does the stalled auto work? that sounds good because im planning on getting headers and an ORY, so less $ i spend the better.
