Default spec clutch and flywheel

I know you are suppose to measure but I dont think my mechanic did. just wonder if spec recommends using the shim they provide when you are using their flywheel with their clutch or just when you use their clutch with stock flywheel. Thanks guys

We recommend taking the measurements to insure whether you need the shim or not. That being said, where does engagement occur relative to pedal travel? Is the clutch engaging high, low or in the middle of the pedal? Let me know so I can better assist you!

when I push the clutch in its just about mid pedal when I let clutch out about 3 inches of floor. I do have a tick master if that makes a difference.
The reason I am asking is because this set up has about 1000 miles on it and I think I'm having the throw out bearing going bad when I leave a stop sign you hear a real bad squeal car shifts great even at high rpm, slave and throw out were also changed when I had the tick and flywheel and clutch replaced. It just started making this sound about at about 1000 miles on set up

The squeal is probably due to the clutch being glazed and a metallic disc. My monster clutch does the same thing. If you beat on it a bit it will go away until you glaze it again.

Kirby, thanks for the email yesterday...as mentioned, it could easily be glazing. Give it the devil and let me know what you experience. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
