Transmission Faceplating?
Someone care to shed some light on this for me? I know what it helps with and the pro's/con's of it... I just need to know *what exactly you are doing to your tranny when you 'faceplate' it? I.E. what's being modified?

There are about 3 threads on them, one is a few years old with alot of good info on this. They all should be on page 1 or 2 of this section right now. Were just talking about face plateing last week.
I'll updated how I like mine when its nice out, after some street and track passes. RPM in doing the work, there stuff is really good. Evereyone I know loves theirs, been doing t56 for a long time now.

I had a Tremec TKO proshifted by Liberty years ago, never looked back. You have to learn how to drive the vehicle under normal conditions in regards to upshifts and downshifts. The best comparison would be to a semi-truck. You have to learn to double clutch and match ground speed to engine speed to have the tranny just fall into gear "calmly".
Under aggressive acceleration the proshifting or newer style faceplating really helps with WOT runs, non throttle lifting gear engagement. Think of it as easier for the slider to slow the next gear down that is being shifted into.
