Clutch
Clutch Ok, I've got to put a clutch in my car. It's a full weight 99 SS that's driven when it's nice out, I do like to drive it though not just idle around. It will go to the drag strip a few times a year. I make 400-450 whp and the car may get nitrous in the future. Car has a 12 bolt and dr's as well.
The car had a trexzilla puck type clutch in it, and I didn't mind the pedal. My only complaint is that it did develop a little chatter right before I removed it. Clutch actually has a little life left in it, but I'm going through the trans and don't want to pull it again.
So who do I go with? Do I put a trexzilla street clutch (non puck) in the car? I see a lot of guys running Monster, but I don't want any chatter, maybe a stage 2, but I want to be able to take it to the track. What about centerforce, I have a lot of friends with 03-04 cobra's and a DFX is what they all run and they do great.

I guess I should rephrase what I'm describing as chatter is more of a squeek. I do understand it's hard to have a performance clutch that is as smooth as silk and you can beat on at the track.

Wish I could help.. I have 50 miles on my Diamond stage 2 and it is butter, near stock like engagement with zero chatter. And it help a 420whp 2-3 shift just fine.. shhhh, don't tell anyone I beat it before it's broke in. lol

McLeod RST twin disk, it'll give you a bit of room power wise and it's a fairly easy on your foot. Family friend just picked one up for his Mach 1 and from what *he says it's a very street-oriented clutch. I'm sure the McLeod rep will come in and +1 that. His testimony is convincing me to look into one... once I start making that much power

Got a few hundred miles on this thing and did a 1st through 4th pull.. all I can say is poor nitto 555r's.
This car never annihlated the tires through 2nd gear and part of 3rd until after this clutch swap. Booya!
