clutch and shifter question
clutch and shifter question the clutch on my 98 trans am is dead for the first inch or two and when i get on it, there is nothing there for the first half afterward. it takes absolutely no effort to push it in the dead zone, it's definately not doing anything there. any ideas as to what is causing this? i also have a B&M ripper shifter and it feels really crappy compared to my friend's stock hurst. it feels really mechanical and rough. is this normal? thanks

Sounds like you may have air in your clutch line. See if bleeding helps. As far as the B&M, its not cushy like the factory hurst unit, as it doesn't have that rubber bushing in it. It will let strange noises in, and fell much firmer going into gear. You'll get used to it. If it feels really crappy, make sure its clean under the boot (the little internal one with the ring around it)
