D and D tranny

D and D tranny -I'm having the usual T-56 problem. Wont engage in 3rd gear and grinds a little in 4th. D and D said I probably need a new 3/4 slider gear, 3/4 synchro kit and steel 3/4 shift fork. They only charge $250 for labor and these parts cost $400 so I'm thinking $650 is great for a rebuild. Plus $130 shipping there and back.
-My question is who are these people paying D and D $1800 for their T-56? The guy I talked to said that these parts WERE upgraded from stock. He mentioned something about upgrading to a Viper piece for $800 which makes the tranny alot stronger but I don't drag alot shocking the tranny, I mainly street race from a role.
-Does $1800 include a new tranny without a core? Because $650 rebuilt, 800 for the Viper Piece and then $350 for the tranny sounds about right.
-Do they upgrade any other parts with the $1800 T-56? For $650 they are not touching anything except 3/4 parts. Does anything else need to be upgraded from 1/2 or 5/6? I do hear about people having problems shifting into 2nd or downshifting into 1st from time to time.
-What about carbon Fibre blocker rings? What do those do and are they included in any of the kits I will be needing?
