BG Syncro Shift 2 fluid in T56 any thoughts on this ? its been used for years in many trannys requiring atf, I 've had 3 different hi performance transmission shops recommend it for my tick level 2 they say trany will shift like butter. been on many forums lurking about this and I've read nothing but good things. what do you think?

havent heard much on that fluid. since you have carbon blockers though you can use any dex 3 spec oil. I run redline d4 and it is the smoothest in my trans out of mobil, synchromesh, and castrol

I run Redline D4 and like it as well.

That being said.... My rebuilt 2001 Fbody T56 from a few years ago with new bearings, carbon blockers, steel shift fork, bronze fork pads, new synchros..... has never shifted as good as the new T56 Magnum I'm running now. The Magnum may cost more.... but man does it shift nicely. I really love this transmission. Better shifting than a GTO T56 also.

ya t56 will never shift as nice as a magnum no matter what way you spin it. the magnum uses more synchro teeth which make shifting shooter but also more costly when you miss a shift because they are smaller. they also use triple cone synchros in 1-2 and double cone in the rest whereas the fbody uses double and single cones

Just a side note if you have a ZF T56 you HAVE to use micron 3 automatic trans mission fluid (ford auto transmission fluid) because there tolerances are much more strict and there parts are harder and more precise(causing them to run hotter). If you use the wrong fluid it will NOT go in gear.

When did ZF ever manufacture the T56?!?!

Or are you speaking of the C4's ZF six speed gearbox??
