where to get input shaft?

where to get input shaft? who sells replacement t-56 input shafts? I dont wanna know what GM will charge me
also anything on the web that shows how to replace them?

D&D - http://www.ddperformance.com - would sell them. Considering mainshafts are $220, and gears are $150, they'll probably fall somewhere in between (tho I have not priced them).
What happened? (I gotta ask, just curious

As for replacing them, I don't know if you could get away with pulling just the front cover or not... Normally I'd disassemble the entire tranny (full rebuild).

pilot bearing failed. The only thing left of it was the smaller inner sleeve, and the outer edges were all chewed up. So the input shaft has a couple grooves in it, one of em is pretty deep 
I also drove it like that about 7k miles, and thought it was a hydraulic problem
all I can afford right now is the input shaft, and it looks like another $100 to have a pro replace it for me
