Default t56 fluid with metallic shean

This is my first manual car, tranny was sent to tick for level 2 upgrade 2010 car had 37k on it , last fall had our shop change fluid for me and it had real fine metal flakes in it so I called tick and they said probably nothing to worry about since the tranny only had around 4k on it since rebuild and parts had to break in. this spring had it torn apart at a very respected transmission shop (in the world of drag racing across the country) because of what I thought to be excessive shifter vibration at heavy load and high rpm. I was told everything checked out great, so today I have our shop change out fluid and it still has a metallic look to it, the tech said it was brass filings and not to worry about it that it was normal. The thing shifts flawless and makes no wierd noise it has never been to the track car gets around 3k a year of spirited pleasure driving. just wanted to throw this out here on tech to see what you all think.

I say normal. You are seeing the metal from the fork pads and synchros wearing as you are using the trans. You probably got a rebuild with bronze fork pads, which will wear and cause a metallic sheen in the trans oil. This is to be expected. Unless you start seeing larger flecks/chunks, don't worry.

Aye, agree with the above. The tick lvl two probably uses the bronze fork pads and the rev gear uses a bronze blocker ring instead of carbon like the other gears. VERY small particles like metallic paint are fine. It's the bigger stuff to worry about.

Again Tick is pretty hard to beat. There are a few other folks selling them. The TR6060 can be had brand new for about $2800,
