Default Which Master Cylinder

I have a gto t56 I plan to swap into my 1966 NOVA. Which master cylinder would be best for this? I plan to autocross and track it once done.

If you can fit a tick master cylinder in the car if you can make it work. I have a stock one right now which does fine. The biggest thing about these transmissions with hydraulic setups is changing the fluid very often. I would recommend every other fill up.

With an organic disc I agree you have to stay on top of keeping the fluid clear, but an aftermarket clutch with a kevlar, ceramic or sintered iron friction material doesn't dust near as bad and stays clean longer.

depends what type of clutch you're going with...twin disc does not require a tick MC. single disc work well with a tick MC but more pedal effort will be required which can have an impact in autox and lapping. the easier it is to drive the car the faster you will be.

I have a tick MC and ML2 and it is robust, can take lots of punishment but the pedal is heavy...i've gotten used to it but those who have co-driven my car tell me i'm crazy for sticking with that heavy a pedal.

Our clutches do not require a master cylinder with a larger bore that increases pedal pressure, most guys are looking for the fastest shifts possible when upgrading to that. I'd suggest swapping back to stock if it is too much and seeing how you like it, hope that helps.

OP

if you are harvesting clutch pedal assembly from car "X", get a MC for that model/year car

I am doing a LT1/T56 in a 70 Nova and using F-body pedal assembly and McLeod hydraulic MC which is made by Wilwood. McLeod makes the adapter piece for the F-body.

I have a McLeod Twin in another car I converted using the same MC but it is the larger one than stock for the F-body. 13/16 but they have both
