T56 issue help...

I'm going to look at a 98 ws6 ram air trans am today. It has a manual and the guy says it won't go into 1st or 2nd. It will go into all other gears. I know very little about manual transmissions. Any insight would be helpful... Btw, it has 125k and he's letting it go for 4000. The car looks to be in excellent shape save for some clear coat peeling off the hood. Leather is in good shape and the rest of the body is too. But that transmission...

The tranny would have to come out and repaired. If you do the R&R and take tranny to shop you may get lucky with a few hundred $ repair....or well over a $1000+. If you are a point & pay guy, even more $

I can take it out and take to a shop. Im thinking this car repaired is worth 6500. Does that sound about right?

aaaaaand as usual, a craigslist seller that is dishonest. I will not be buying this trashed piece of crap. All i needed to see was the cigarette ash covered center console and the 4 empty packs of Newports in there to know that I didnt want to get in there. Not to mention the shoddy paint work done all over the car. Horrible.
