2nd gear issues out of 6 speed?

Hey guys, I bought a 2012 SS a few months ago. When I test drove it, it grind syncos going into 2nd gear. I figured it was due to not being driven. When it cold it grinds, when warm it doesn't, but ever once in awhile it grinds when the RPMs are 3000 fast shifting? Im thinking the ones who owned it before abused the tranny. This can not be normal for a tranny with 14k on the clock. Also, the tranny pan gasket had to be replaced before I got it and I was told the tranny has to come out to replace it, so I wonder they might have done something?
Any ideas before I take it and have it check? I believe the 2nd gear synco is fcked up..

Not necessarily. I lost a synchro on a low mileage granny that was not abused. All car parts are programmed to fail, the minute the warranty is up.

tr6060's had issues with this, i believe there was a tsb or even a recall issued so check up on that . basically the 2nd gear synchros werent up to the task and failed often gm since took steps to correct it.

Take it in. GM started warrantying the bronze blockers out for carbon on 2nd after a few years of production. Chrysler too. There are first and second design synchros.
