Is this a problem???? Just noticed it today. But when i was stopped in the wendy's drive through i let my foot off the clutch and it started to make a weird rattling noise. I never noticed it before if it was always doing it beucase the only reason i heard it was echo off the wall in the drive through. When i got back to work i opened the door and stuck my head out. It is dead quiet when the cluth is in but makes the noise when its not (So i'm not hearing things).
I guess the question is... what causes this, is it good/bad, a problem?

Yeah rattling noise. I've had that happen to me as well. My '02 and my '90 would sometimes do that when I'd get home and everything was hot. It sounds like the input shaft is making noise while freewheeling.
If I push the clutch in one or twice, it goes away. I think it's amplified by the bellhousing as well.

By hot, I mean the clutch itself not the ambient temp.
I don't think it's a problem. My T-5 did it before and after the clutch swap. And after I rebuilt the trans itself. They're just a bit noisy at times...

I've seen this on a few different cars, all with some miles on them. Usually is the release(throwout) bearing getting a little play in it. I've replaced them before, which got rid of it, but it sounded a little worse than what you're describing.
