Default pro 5.0 question

Sorry if this has already been addressed but here goes

My brother and I both have t56 mines a camaro his is a trans am, we both have pro5.0 shifters with what feels like the same length shaft but the one in the camaro is noticeably shorter has anyone else noticed this? Or have any idea why the same shifter feels so different in a different car?

What shifter handle is used? Is one a hurst and the other a normal GM one? The pro5.0 is likely not the reason and for those cars they should be 100% identical.

I use that base with a steeda tri-ax handle and it's a VERY short throw but it's accurate and I like it a lot.

I've always cut an inch off the threads of the Pro-5.0's I've installed as I think the handle is still too long. You can also go with a UMI short stick.

There were 2 variants, the power tower was the very tall one and would nearly hit my cd player when put in reverse

Ditto. I think I cut 3/4"+ off mine, plus I ran the MBA billet **** which had a major recess for the threads.
