Default Skip shift light on with skip shift eliminator

I just installed a skip shift eliminator on my 98Z and my skip shift light still comes on once in awhile. I can shift from first to second with no problem, but I thought the light was supposed to stay out once the skip shift eliminator was installed.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Thats what i thought to. The light still comes on but you can shitft wherever you want. It just bypasses the actuall skip shift thing not the light. I really wish i would have saved my $20 and used the resistor that everyone else uses. It does the exact same thing.

All the skip shift elimintator is ,
Is a Resister in a pretty package.
A 10 cent resistor does the same thing.
What it does is let the computor think its still connected to the solenoid.
With out this resistor it will throw a code if you disconnect the solenoid.
So yes the light will still come on. The computor thinks you are still hooked up.

There are 2 ways to make it so you never see the light again.
1) Get HPTuners or something similar and change the skip shift parameters
2) I small piece of black electrical tape over the skip shift light.

Hey, I did the Homer Simpson mod on both my service engine and skip shift light, works wonders!

My SES was always on anyways, so even if it would turn on for something else, I wouldn't know about it

I don't really mind the light.... anyways if you can see it and its a good time to use the skip shift why not just do what it was designed to do... driving in NYC with a skip shift is HORRIBLE
