ok guys, need your help. i have a leak at my rear main seal so trannys gotta come off. clutch looked low on life last time the trans was off decided not to swap it out but now its the time. currently has around 380-400hp or so but i have a new block with big turbo plans. want it to hold 600hp on the street and around 800 at the track. trying not to break the bank looked at spec and monster wondering if anyone else has any suggestions. thanks!
Sorry to say but you wont touch anything that can reliably hold that power without some deep pockets. A monster level 3 will hold 700whp and a stage 4 even more however they both are in the 600-800 dollar range. Both clutchs will have a stiffer pedal and may chatter on the street.
If you want a stock like pedal and the ability to hold even more power. Then you will creep into the $1k range with things like a monster twin disc or mcleod rxt. These will all drive like stock and hold your power.
In short there is no "cheap" clutch to hold what you want
i didnt mean cheap by saying not breaking the bank. i was thinking somewhere in the $600-800 range already, possibly a little more. but thanks for the suggeestion
anyone have experience with a monster 11" race clutch? says its good to 850hp/tq just want to know what its like on the street. also what exactly does the little warning mean by saying this clutch will find weak points in your drive train and if inadequate there will be failures.

It has a slightly stiffer pedal than our 12" units that's how it has more clamping force even though it's smaller. It's held as high as 1111rwtq on the dyno and been 9.3 in the 1/4 so it can take abuse, but a clutch that grips that well of course will break parts if you're not careful. There are people out there who daily drive it, but don't expect it to drive just like a stock clutch. Hope that helps, Chris.
