installing spec stage 3 QUICK QUESTION I am installing a spec stage 3 in a 01 ls1. Its says in the instructions to rebalance the assembly after the stock flywheel is refaced, is this really necessary? Also the blue shim that came with the kit where exactly does it go? also you dont reuse the stock shim right? thanks for the help
also what is the best tranny fluid to put in this, is there any certain brands to stay away from?

Balancing is ALWAYS good, but not a "must". I've ran several resurfaced stock flywheels unbalanced without issues. Blue shim goes behind the slave, you have to unbolt it from the tranny and you'll see how it slips on. There is no stock shim, and I use AC DELCO tranny fluid. Anything NON-synthetic is fine...
