Why does the tranny vibrate if.....?

Why does the tranny vibrate if.....? If I let the clutch out to quickly? I notice everytime when I shift from 1-2 and sometimes from 2-3 that their is a vibrating noise if I dont baby the clutch out. Any ideas on what this is? Is it common?
